About space
My main focus of this project is the mouth but also space related, I found some artist work that's kind inspired me. In this project I always thought about the space structure, or spatial displacements. The marks and imprint aroused my interest.

Jason MARTIN
A young British artist, Mr. Martin paints by covering largish surfaces of stainless steel, aluminum and plexiglass with (usually) a single color of oil paint; he then pulls a fine, sometimes specially made comblike tool across the wet paint, creating striations that move up and down according to various intervals and rhythms.
Material--clay
I think soft clay is a quiet apropos material to create the marks and imprint I want.
thoughts
I think performance painting is special way of communication, it's not just the connection between artist and audience, but also the link between audience and art. And some kind phenomenon among all the individuals in the same space.
Text
The performance also reminds me of growth ring, which symbolised experiences, ages and time.
Inspired
When I look at this performance, the interstice in the black made me think of experience and path, which kind linked to my idea of teeth. In this performance the artist use the wood stick as the tool to create the texture, I thought about trying my own texture but with teeth mark.
